436: trippingly on the tongue

I don't get to do much thrifting these days, you know.

But I did hit a community yard sale a couple months back and scored some goodies.

Mind if I use them to make my post un-naked? Awesome.

I didn't forget about the Swoon bag giveaway! Thank you for all of your feedback on what you would like to see from me in my next book!

The randomly picked winner is Pink Sky who said:

Wow, I dropped off the face of the earth and look at you!!! I am so excited for you with the book and the fabric and to see you getting out there even if it's a bit anxiety-provoking. Feel the fear and do it anyway and all that. I picked up your book recently (without looking at the author, the title caught my eye) and I got to the end and wow! There you were on the back cover! I was so excited for you! Woo! I had to come back and see what else you've been up to. Congratulations!!! I am totally drooling over your new fabric.

For your next book, you have those awesome clothes you put together for this show, and some quilts and bags, those would be great to learn to make. Either that or you should totally do a book about unicorns. Think of the fun you'd have with that one.

I'm so happy to be able to visit again and see you doing so well. :) The book is fabulous and the fabric is gorgeous! Go you!!!

Yay! Email me your mailing address, and I will send out your prize!

In other news, last night after Bikram yoga? I had pie for dinner. One slice of apple and one slice of pumpkin. And for dessert: more pie! (Thank you to New Cindy for the deliciousness!)

And then for lunch today, that's right, pie! But this time I had Cheez-its for dessert.

Jewelry box cover?

With a mirror on the inside:

I love those heavy, old mirrors. Especially the 50 cent ones.

I have still been reading lots of delightful Regency romance novels, or what I like to call Smut Books. Julia Quinn is my favorite so far and in the past 2 months I have read almost everything she has published.

I am going to have to do a Smut-Along, right? (And yes, we will still do that Austen-Along, really we will.)

If you want to get a head start, and see why I'm reading several of these books a week, try When He Was Wicked, Everything and the Moon, Minx or Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. Sigh. I love these books.

Did you know that Beth is writing a historical romance? I love it! She has read me two excerpts so far and they are perfect.  It's smart, funny and sexy--- just like she is. Beth excels at anything she puts her mind to and romance writing is no exception. She's a natural!

I miss thrifting. Maybe I can get back to it in January, when the shop will be closed during the week.

My latest fabric line Swoon should be shipping to stores Any Minute Now. I can't wait to see what you make with it. Seriously. Don't forget to join the flickr group and show me!

Well, I'm feeling a mite out of sorts (too much pie?) and boring , so I will catch you on the flip side.

xo,

melissa

p.s. like my new blog header? I love it!
