Spring QM 2010 Wednesday and Thursday

Wednesday morning I just hung out at my awesome B+B, Evelo's.

You could not possibly blame me.

Seriously, the breakfasts were ridiculous, in the best possible way.

Something I have neglected to mention is that they have a thing for lamps at this place:

So beautiful.

Aside from the amazing parade of breakfast food and luscious decor, do you know why I stayed there? The honest answer?

It was literally the least expensive place I could find.

You can't even believe how inexpensive.

I suppose it must be because you have to share a bathroom.

But the place only has 4 rooms and there is one bathroom with a shower and an additional half-bath that you can use if you need to.

I never had a problem with it.

Honestly, even if I could afford something more expensive, I would choose to stay at Evelo's instead.

But now I need to take off the Evelo's weight. Damn you, amazing breakfasts!

Wednesday afternoon I headed down to the convention center to meet up with my new fabric company Andover.

There was a sales meeting from 3-6, during which I had the pleasure of sitting next to the fabulous Lizzy House.

The meeting was followed by a lovely dinner where I had a chance to chat with David, the company president. We talked  a bit about my collection and the industry but then we moved on to  how bummed we both were to miss Glee the night before! We were wondering whether it would be on hulu. He's very funny, cute and easy to talk with.

I felt so welcomed by everyone--- it was just wonderful. Leaving Free Spirit was a tough choice to make, but it has been affirmed at every turn by positive experiences with Andover. Frigging YAY!

Took a cab back to the b+b and watched Glee on hulu.  :o)

Thursday.

Most of the day was waiting around for the Schoolhouses I wanted to see. The day before the show officially opens is a day short little presentations by designers, manufacturers, authors etc --- each one is called a Schoolhouse.

I was happy to find a comfy sofa-like bench outside of the room where all of the Andover Schoolhouses would be. And right there on that bench was David from Andover, stuffing giveaway bags.  I parked myself next to him and hung out there chatting with him for most of the morning. I reassured him that he could watch Glee on hulu. He seemed genuinely pleased. I like that guy.

The rest of the day was spent going to schoolhouses, hanging around and waiting for Beth and Violet to arrive.  After  they showed up, we happened upon Kim from True Up and Sarah from Sewer-Sewist (and Fabric Shop Network) who we spent some time with sprawled on the floor outside the Schoolhouse doors. I had met Kim and Sarah before, but this was the longest we'd chatted and it was so much fun!

Next up, Fabric 2.0- the blogger/twitter meetup party that happens the night before market starts. I didn't take any pictures, but there are a bunch floating around. It seems silly to name drop without any pictures, so I will refrain.

Click here for Beth's account of Thursday including the b+b, schoolhouse and fabric 2.0!

These market recaps take forever because I feel compelled to be thorough! I have several other posts started so they will be coming up soon.

I hope you don't get bored!
