I love to stitch movement and life into a quilt, most often improvising with my Melissa Freestyle method.

What is Melissa Freestyle? It's allover, edge-to-edge quilting that is comprised of many different flowing motifs rather than just one. It may include stipple, swirls, feathers, paisleys, leaf shapes... you name it! This style works wonderfully on both traditional and modern style quilts.

Melissa Freestyle on a quilt by Melissa Pederson of 100 Million Stars (that link takes you to her post about the quilt and a free pattern for it!) and you can see more photos in my blog post here.)

Melissa Freestyle mixes well with semi custom work quilting as well. I may do straight line (or wonky!) quilting in star blocks and then surround it with Melissa Freestyle, as in this quilt by Jeni Baker from In Color Order (using her own fabric line Color Me Retro.)

Depending on the quilt, we may opt to do full custom with lines and fill in with pebbles or swirls or feathers, as in this gorgeous Newport Crosses quilt pieced  by Judy Skwar.

You can see tons more pictures of this quilt (and the quilting!) in this blog post right here.

Of course, any longarm quilting services will be discussed with you beforehand, but usually my clients invite me to let loose and be creative on their quilts. I love having so much trust placed in me with people's beautiful work. I am also happy to stitch a quilt in a simple stipple, shell or straight line designs.

Another beauty pieced by Judy Skwar, Sandcastles pattern in Heather Ross fabrics and quilted with simple loops. Blog post here.

Please email me for a quote or to chat about working together! I aim for a less than 3 week turnaround, but that changes based on my workload. That said, I am flexible and can usually accomodate a deadline!

Let's work together!
